Job Opportunity: Senior Designer (Portland, OR)

Alta Planning + Design is seeking a design professional in the field of landscape architecture for our Portland office. This is a unique opportunity for a design professional to take a key role working on high-profile active transportation projects regionally, as well as globally.

You’ll develop cost estimates and design details for construction documents. You’ll participate in and facilitate Alta’s public outreach efforts and lead development of project deliverables. You’ll mentor staff in the growth of their technical proficiencies, contributing in research and enhancing professional staff knowledge. You’ll contribute to Alta’s reputation as a trusted advisor and expert, and be an integral part of the growth of Alta’s Portland design team.

We’re seeking a professional who has knowledge of, and interest in, the field of active transportation, has a solid understanding of the design process, in particular as it relates to street and trail design, and is looking for the next challenge in their career.  As a Senior Designer at Alta, you have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture or related field. You’ve worked for a minimum of three to five (3-5) years in a consulting environment or public entity, have working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Civil 3D, ARCGIS or similar, and have the ability to create photo renderings, and concept sketches, develop construction documents or other similar materials. You have experience managing smaller projects or being the design lead on significant tasks that were part of much larger projects.
