NW Playground CEU Session: Site Furnishings: Best Practices, Regulations, and Materials Registration

Spring is here, and this season encourages us to spend more time outdoors, and outdoor site amenities can play an important role in facilitating that experience. Whether in a park, along a nature trail, or in a residential area, site amenities provide a place for people to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of springtime. They offer a convenient spot to take a break during a walk, read a book, relax, and take in the scenery. Additionally, site amenities are a great way to encourage social interaction and community bonding, as they provide a place for people to gather and engage in conversation. As the weather gets warmer, more and more people will likely be drawn to spend time outdoors, making these amenities an essential part of creating comfortable and inviting outdoor spaces.

Northwest Playground is excited to launch our April CEU session topic with DuMor:  Best Practices with Outdoor Furnishings

Topic: Site Furnishings: Best Practices, Regulations, and Materials Registration

Description:  An integral part of connecting people to spaces and making spaces accessible for everyone is incorporating site furniture. Knowing where, what, and how to place furnishings into a space can be a challenge. This course will look at outdoor park benches, tables, and bike racks in depth. We will cover the types, options, and best practices in application and regulations (ADA). We will also talk about the characteristics of common materials used on site furnishings and how they impact longevity, value, ethics, and safety.
