NW Playground Equipment December CEU

Northwest Playground Equipment is excited to welcome you to our December CEU session presented by our partners at Freenotes Harmony Park

If your schedule allows and you want to learn more about music in the Outdoors, please join us for a great presentation from our exclusive partners at Freenotes Harmony Park. Research confirms that experiencing music in nature positively engages the brain, builds social cohesion, and creates the conditions to build harmonious communities, which matches Northwest Playground's motto: Building Community Through Play!

Course Description: NATURAL HARMONY™: AN INSTRUMENTAL GUIDE TO BLENDING MUSIC & COMMUNITY

Course Credits: CEUs for a total of 1.0 Professional Development Hours / 0.1 IACET / 1.0 AIA HSW LU / 1.0 LA CES HSW PDH

Music parks benefit every community member, but few communities have a music program available and affordable to everyone. A

permanent installation of instruments changes that. A simplified system allows anyone to play, regardless of training or ability, and instruments

can be designed for individual and ensemble play. Music transcends age, gender, ethnicity, and mobility and is a gathering force that builds better

communities and helps makes people kinder.

Singing, playing instruments, or merely listening to music releases neurotransmitters in the brain, which facilitate our ability to bond with one another and experience pleasure. Experiencing music with others, for example, generates oxytocin, which enables us to feel a sense of belonging.

Added benefits are enjoyed when we take music outside. Nature restores mental functioning in the brain in the same way that water and food fuel our bodies. A growing body of research confirms that experiencing music in nature positively engages the brain, builds social cohesion, and creates the conditions to build harmonious communities. Outdoor music spaces engage people of all ages, races, and musical abilities to experience and share their creative expressions of tones, rhythms, and melodies, and experiencing music in outdoor settings promotes community engagement and greater individual happiness as it relaxes soothes, and feeds the soul.
