Wetland Delineation Workshop

This workshop will provide an introduction to the science and protocol of wetland delineation. The intended audience includes environmental professionals who work with wetlands, streams and watershed management. Participants will learn about standard methodology, data sources, wetland indicators and regulations, as well as the practical components of an onsite inspection.

 Instructor: Phil Quarterman, Wetland Scientist, PWS (Emeritus)

Phil Quarterman has over 40 years of experience as a wetland scientist, working in local and state government and since 1995 in consulting with WHPacific, Inc. He has worked on many types of projects delineating and assessing wetlands, obtaining state and federal permits, and crafting and implementing wetland mitigation plans.

: Clackamas Community College - 1.3 CEU, OLCB - 13 CEH, CCB - 13 CE
Certificate of Completion will be provided. (Applied OESAC credits.)

  1. Four-Day Lecture + Virtual Field Experience $400 (students $160)

    This entire option is via Zoom – Recordings will be available (20 hours or 2 CEU)

    March 7-9 (Mon. - Wed.)  8 a.m. - noon
    March 10 (Thur.)  8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

    Virtual Field Experience (Zoom)

    March 11 (Fri.)    1-4:30 p.m.

  2. Four-Day Lecture + Field Practicum: $550 (students $220)

    Lecture via Zoom – Recordings will be available *Field Practicum In-person (23 hours or 2.3 CEU)

    March 10 (Thur.)  8 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

    Field Practicum (In-person at Three Creeks Natural Area)

    March 14 (Mon.)    9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (1/2 hour lunch)
    If this date fills up, a second section will be offered March 15

  3. Field Practicum Only: $200.00 (students $80)
    *In-person at Three Creeks Natural Area adjacent to CCC’s Harmony Campus.

This entire section will be held outdoors, following appropriate protocol for Covid-safe interactions.  (6.5 hours or 0.65 CEU)

Field Practicum (In-person at Three Creeks Natural Area)

March 14 (Mon.)    9 a.m. - 4 p.m. (1/2 hour lunch)
If this date fills up, a second section will be offered March 15.

*P*Please note that the field practicum is contingent upon our ability to safely hold in-person events. If CCC later determines that this is not possible, you will be moved to the Virtual Field Experience and receive a refund for the difference in price.
