Learning Landscapes is a landscape architecture firm specializing in creating inspiring spaces for learning and play. We are a small firm and employees are involved in every aspect of the project from marketing to construction observation. Currently, we are seeking an organized, self –motivated, enthusiastic landscape designer/ landscape architect with the skills to immediately contribute to our team. The position would be a good fit for individuals that
have strong production background and are looking to grow their skills and knowledge.

Desired Abilities in Candidates
 Excellent communication and collaboration skills
 Ability to manage time effectively, organize, and work on multiple projects simultaneously in order to meet project deadlines and deliver projects on budget
 Current working experience with AutoCAD and the ability to produce high quality construction document plans and details with a strong attention to detail
 Current working experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator)
 Excellent design capabilities
 Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently
 Strong freehand and computer graphics; Sketchup and Twin Motion are a plus.
 A degree in landscape architecture
 An interest in play and learning spaces is a must. Experience or education in children's landscapes is a plus, but not a requirement for the job
 Interest in working for a small, specialized firm

The position is currently a remote position with occasional in person meetings for local projects. Candidates must have high speed internet, and a home workspace conducive to getting work done. NCPRD Planning & Development Division Director

The North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) seeks an experienced parks and recreation planning and development leader to join our team.

The Planning & Development Division Director will lead and oversee all planning and development activities for NCPRD. This position manages a small team of experienced planning and capital projects staff and oversees all aspects of parks and recreation planning, including updates to the System Plan, trails, natural areas and park planning, System Development Charge program methodology and property acquisition; capital improvement program; and, design and construction of new capital assets. Due to limited staff capacity, the Planning & Development Division Director must be a working manager who is nimble and able to guide the work of senior planning and capital project staff while completing other planning-related deliverables and board reports. The Planning & Development Director will need to be able to prepare, analyze, and recommend complex planning and administrative projects by researching and reviewing laws, ordinances, land use applications, and other legislative issues to determine the impact on the District. The Director will also develop, prepare, and negotiate intergovernmental agreements and memorandums of understanding for land acquisitions, property dispositions, joint use agreements, grants, and other partnership opportunities. The Director will also serve as a district representative on local and regional committees for park planning-related activities and projects.

The Planning & Development Division Director cultivates a collaborative team environment and provides guidance and mentorship to experienced planning and development staff on all project management functions, including planning, designing, constructing, and restoring parks, facilities, and natural areas. The position also oversees staff efforts related to long-range planning for developed parks, trails, open spaces, and natural areas and coordinating these activities with other NCPRD divisions, county departments, outside agencies, and the public. In these responsibilities, the selected candidate will mentor planning staff and work with other division directors to expand community engagement that centers on equity and inclusion. The Planning & Development Division Director will develop and manage the division budget in coordination with the Finance Director, manage planning contracts, assist the NCPRD Director in division staffing plans and hiring, and have full supervisory responsibilities for assigned full-time staff and various seasonal/temporary employees of the Planning & Development Division. The Planning & Development Director will develop and maintain effective relations with the public. They will represent NCPRD at meetings and provide expertise on issues with local jurisdictions and other agencies.
