PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead landscape architecture projects from conceptual design through construction
administration, including management of sub-consultants and production staff
• Assume responsibility (with support) for the production, organization, coordination, and
accuracy of all presentations and documents
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties
• Lead multiple projects in various stages of development simultaneously and work
cooperatively with the principal team to ensure design integrity and graphic consistency
• Communicate with and coordinate the efforts of project team members, clients,
consultants, contractors, and agency officials
• Manage project schedule, and workflow, and anticipate required staff resources
• Review project budgets, communicate project progress to the Business Administration
team
• Work with the project team to produce presentation materials for client and agency
presentations
• Research and specify materials, products, and systems
• Attend job-site meetings in person. Issue supplemental instructions, and review
submittals and shop drawings during the Construction Administration phase
• Coach and mentor junior staff, share experiences and lessons learned to increase the firm’s
common knowledge

Position Summary
The Planning Associate provides facilities planning services for the University of Oregon on issues related to the development of the campus. Specifically, the position holds primary staff duties related to the oversight of the Campus Plan and its maintenance, the work of the Campus Planning Committee, specialty plans and studies, and periodic campus area studies. The position provides leadership, expertise, and advocacy related to the planning, policy, and design elements of the Campus Plan and at least one specialty area relevant to campus planning (e.g., architectural or landscape design, GIS land use planning, or community and regional planning). Related tasks include: staffing the Campus Planning Committee, formulating reports, policies, and studies; performing liaison and monitoring duties associated with those activities; and acting as a channel of communication for planning and design issues at the university. This position is responsible for interpreting and implementing the policies of the Campus Plan and educating campus leaders, capital project design teams, and others about the design elements and policies of the Plan.
This position also creates and updates planning related documents and manages planning projects and processes undertaken by the Campus Planning Office.
Examples include:
• Preparing sub-plans of the Campus Plan describing development and design policies in greater detail.
• Managing site selection processes for proposed capital projects (comprehensive site selection analysis).
• Serving as the Campus Planning representative on capital projects, providing campus planning and site design guidance to those projects by participating in the management of the design process.
• Completing feasibility studies for potential projects.

The Planning Associate reports to the Assistant Director - Campus Planning. This position works with the Assistant Director to set priorities and performs tasks independently while also working as a member of a team. The work schedule is typical office hours. Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning, Public Administration, or a related field.

Position Description: Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is seeking a licensed Landscape Architect with at least 8-15 years of related work experience and an academic background in landscape architecture to join our team in the Pacific Northwest. Who You Are
You are a self-directed person who is organized and comfortable leading multiple projects and task deliverables concurrently. You are an enthusiastic, articulate, effective team member who has at least 6 years of experience planning and designing parks, trails, public access, habitat restoration, and other types of public infrastructure projects in a professional setting. You have proven success managing projects and coordinating with consultant teams, clients, and public agencies. You use AutoCAD/Civil3D, Adobe Creative Suite, modeling software and other design software to effectively prepare a range of design products including concept plans, perspective renderings, graphic presentations, and bid-ready construction packages.
You are able to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams to integrate data and analyses to plan and design native habitat restoration/enhancement, natural open space, recreation and public access improvements. Specific experience with renderings and visualizations, planning and design of large-scale public projects, working with engineers and biologists, and climate change adaptation approaches are desirable.
You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture and are licensed in Oregon or Washington.
You are comfortable producing design plans, specifications, and cost estimates, and translating these deliverables to construction administration tasks. You have an interest in and familiarity with native ecosystems and plants, and are looking for an opportunity to apply, share and expand your knowledge base and skills. What You Will Do for ESA
As part of the Landscape Architecture Team, you will: make yourself invaluable to multiple multi-disciplinary project teams focused on recreational/public access projects in open space, urban, suburban, and rural settings, habitat restoration, climate adaptation, and community engagement. Lead and manage a range of public park, waterfront, and trail projects of high complexity and visibility, including developing master plans and conceptual designs; participating in and/or leading client and community engagement meetings; integrating and translating science and field-based analyses; producing construction documents; and providing construction support services. Coordinate staff assignments and workloads for one or more landscape architects/designers. Review project accounting and prepare invoices.
Support marketing efforts and contribute to the development of scopes, fee estimates, and other narrative components of task orders and proposals. Lead proposals for large, complex projects as a Project Manager. Participate in project presentations and proposal interviews.
Serve as a technical specialist and mentor for grading, layout, irrigation, ornamental planting and native revegetation, ADA/ABA accessibility, site furnishings, design reports, and construction cost estimating.

NCPRD Planning & Development Division Director
The North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District (NCPRD) seeks an experienced parks and recreation planning and development leader to join our team.
The Planning & Development Division Director will lead and oversee all planning and development activities for NCPRD. This position manages a small team of experienced planning and capital projects staff and oversees all aspects of parks and recreation planning, including updates to the System Plan, trails, natural areas and park planning, System Development Charge program methodology and property acquisition; capital improvement program; and, design and construction of new capital assets. Due to limited staff capacity, the Planning & Development Division Director must be a working manager who is nimble and able to guide the work of senior planning and capital project staff while completing other planning-related deliverables and board reports. The Planning & Development Director will need to be able to prepare, analyze, and recommend complex planning and administrative projects by researching and reviewing laws, ordinances, land use applications, and other legislative issues to determine the impact on the District. The Director will also develop, prepare, and negotiate intergovernmental agreements and memorandums of understanding for land acquisitions, property dispositions, joint use agreements, grants, and other partnership opportunities. The Director will also serve as a district representative on local and regional committees for park planning-related activities and projects.
The Planning & Development Division Director cultivates a collaborative team environment and provides guidance and mentorship to experienced planning and development staff on all project management functions, including planning, designing, constructing, and restoring parks, facilities, and natural areas. The position also oversees staff efforts related to long-range planning for developed parks, trails, open spaces, and natural areas and coordinating these activities with other NCPRD divisions, county departments, outside agencies, and the public. In these responsibilities, the selected candidate will mentor planning staff and work with other division directors to expand community engagement that centers on equity and inclusion. The Planning & Development Division Director will develop and manage the division budget in coordination with the Finance Director, manage planning contracts, assist the NCPRD Director in division staffing plans and hiring, and have full supervisory responsibilities for assigned full-time staff and various seasonal/temporary employees of the Planning & Development Division.
